Dredlocks are trendy once again. They are characteristic of Rastafari and some other subcultures. There are several ways of forming them. Check how to do them at home. But remember that the final effects can be achieved after several months.

The most beautiful ones can be formed from curly hair. If you wear straight or slightly curly hair do a perm using very small rolls. Thanks to this dreadlocks will look very effecively and the procedure itself will be easier and shorter. In order to form dreadlock on your own you’re going to need the following ingredients and accessories: a litre of water, bee wax, a spoonful of vinegar, a crochet hook and a hair band. For about fortnight before forming dreadlocks resign from any hair conditioners. Prepare a mixture of vinegar and water. Next, wash your hair removing most of the pollution such as sebum and dandroof, which could make the procedure of forming deradlocks more difficult. The same result can be achieved by washing your hair with a good shampoo containing SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate). Then you must blow-dry your hair and divide it into strands. Strands’ thickness should be correspondent to the final deadlocks’ thickness.

Each of the separated strands should be curled starting from the hair roots. Later the strands should be backcombed and curled once again. People whose hair is more difficult for styling (doing locks) have to spend more time on backcombing. Put some bee wax or some special styling wax on the curled strands . Thanks to it your strands won’t be able to uncurl and the desired result will hold for longer. At the end of each dreadlock you should put a hair band, that will prevent your strands from uncurling. But it’s not the end yet. One need to take care of dreadlocks regularly, that means repeating curling and backcombing procedure as well as wax application. For curling your hair you can use a special crochet hook. You have to take care of your dreadlocks every day if you want them to look awesome. In case of any problems with forming dreadlock at the back of your head, ask some friends or family to give you a hand.
